Waltham, MA. (July 2010). Astra Tech expands the Atlantis™ patient-specific abutment options to include XiVE™ and Frialit™ implants from Dentsply Friadent and Standard/Standard Plus (Wide Neck) implants from Straumann for North American customers.
Dentsply Friadent is the latest manufacturer to be added to the rapidly expanding Atlantis™ patientspecific abutment assortment, while Atlantis abutments are already available for major implant systems such as Astra Tech, Straumann, Nobel Biocare, Biomet 3i and Zimmer Dental. These introductions are the latest in a series of Atlantis abutments being developed for new implant interfaces, further securing Astra Tech’s leadership position in providing patient-specific abutments for all major implant systems.
Astra Tech, leading provider of comprehensive solutions for dental implant therapy, plans to introduce additional interfaces and material choices for the Atlantis™ patient-specific solution in 2010. The complete Atlantis™ compatibility chart is available at www.atlantisabutment.com.
Astra Tech, a market leader in the field of implant dentistry, announces their strategic alliance with Dental Wings, the Canadian-based provider of CAD/CAM solutions with specialized development of 3D scanners, beginning in early 2010. As a result, Dental Wings users worldwide will have the ability to remotely transfer scans to Astra Tech’s design and manufacturing centers for the production of Atlantis™ patient-specific abutments for all major implant systems.
The latest CAD/CAM technology for patient‐specific abutments is now gaining ground on the European dental market. The Swedish medical device company Astra Tech AB, a subsidiary of AstraZeneca, is introducing the Atlantis™ solution for all major implant systems.
Astra Tech challenges the current standard in marginal bone maintenance and sets a new standard implying only 0.3 mm of bone loss for a successful implant. Also, Astra Tech launches Atlantis™, a unique method of producing patient-specific abutments based on the appearance of the final tooth, in Europe.
3M ESPE and Astra Tech AB, a leader and innovator in the dental implant industry, announce a global partnership to provide Astra Tech’s Atlantis™ patient-specific abutments to 3M ESPE Lava™ customers. The two companies have developed an interface which will enable the Lava™ Scan ST Design System to communicate directly with Astra Tech’s Atlantis technology.
Thousands of delegates from 23 countries are expected to attend the second Astra Tech World Congress, held June 4-7 at the newly opened Gaylord National Resort & Conference Center in Washington, DC.
“We are delighted that this year’s event will enable more than 130 of the world’s most respected dental professionals and researchers to present their latest findings in the field of implant dentistry,” says Peter Selley, President & CEO of
Astra Tech AB.
